Through our partnership with Global Rights Compliance, we work with the Child Justice Team in their efforts to protect the rights of children in conflict-related criminal investigations and proceedings in Ukraine.  The collaboration is with the Office of the Prosecutor General’s Department for the Protection of Children’s Interests and Combating Domestic Violence (OPG JJD), the Victim and Witness Coordination Centre (VCC), and the investigators of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU).

We have been offering technical support across various activities to ensure a child-friendly and healing-centred engagement within the accountability mechanisms. Among other activities, we are contributing through:

• Technical expertise in consolidating the Best Interest Assessment (BIA) procedure.
• Capacity-building on the psychological impact of wars onto children and families, child-sensitive communication, and strengthening trauma-informed professional practices in the context of juvenile justice. 

The activities are funded by the European Union under the Atrocity Crimes Advisory (ACA) Group for Ukraine.
