Calling out the culture of impunity in Nepal for the justice of conflict-affected victims 

Advocating for the Nepal government to take action

Our expert-by-experience, Gita,  joins other conflict-affected families to advocate for the Nepal government  to engage with justice.

The Nepal conflict led to over 13,000 people killed, over 1,300 were subjected to enforced disappearance over 70,000 people were displaced, at least 20,000 were tortured, and thousands of women were raped during the 10-year-long armed conflict.

“Every one of us has the right to know the truth (…) What was lost, how it is going to be recovered? How can the void be fulfilled? Since 2007, I have been working for people who were victimized during the people’s war. I want to fight to help them get justice for what they have lost.”

“Our brutal past is not talked about in our society and the issues that came along have not been addressed. The inequality we face on a day-to-day level is what gave birth to war. We cannot stay silent anymore. People might once again die brutally.”
